Carmakers Can Relax, A Bit, Apple Car Threat Looks Years Away, from Forbes.
The world’s car manufacturers can breathe easy, at least for a while; the threat that mega-rich technology company Apple AAPL -0.33% is about to launch a vehicle which would fatally undermine the traditional industry isn’t going to happen any time soon.
If it does materialize, it will have to be electric and autonomous. Perhaps it will be built in China to relieve local overcapacity.

The industry isn’t about to succumb to a threat from high technology upstarts, but Bernstein does worry that longer term the threat may bite big chunks out of the traditional industry.
