3 Ways to Light Some Fireworks in Your Web Traffic This Summer, from 9 Cloud Automotive Marketing.
WELL, IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN.
People are spending more time outside this time of year, but your website leads don’t have to take a dip.
In fact, with a few thoughtful adjustments to your digital marketing strategy, you can keep your sales staff from complaining about a lack of web leads as the temperature rises. In fact, Dealer.com expects July’s web traffic to be 10% higher than it was last year.
Here’s how you can curb the warm-weather trend and keep things alive online during the summer months:
- Disrupt people (in a good way). If you’re having trouble gathering an audience on your website, head to email. Put some summertime context into your messages. Have fun with people who like to have fun during the evenings and weekends! Time your email blasts to go out during business hours. Keep things very sharp and to the point to cut through the sunshine-induced gaze that seems to hit your clients during their outdoor activities. What should you say in your email? Give people an excuse to get out and about on a nice day – something that happens to be at your dealership. Don’t waste their beautiful (and in South Dakota, very limited) summer hours. What would make them leave their lawn chairs and come test drive a new vehicle? Get to it!
- Plan ahead. Especially here in South Dakota, things are quite predictable during the summer months. Our various outdoor concerts, fests, fairs and sports are all on a fairly strict schedule. Events like these are likely sucking the life out of your website. You can’t force people to skip a Lynyrd Skynyrd show just to browse your (hypothetical) inventory of brand new El Caminos, but you can still make the connection between those two with a craftily-timed post, ad or email. (My apologies to any Southern Rock fans reading this… unless you’re rocking out to Free Bird while driving an El Camino, which would prove my point.)
