After receiving 12 reports of engine fires, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into about 36,000 Mini Cooper vehicles, according to a story from Bloomberg.com. The story said, of the 12 reports, about five of the incidences caused the full vehicle to be damaged by the engine fire.
