A story on WashingtonPost.com said the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is one step closer to issuing a recall of the BMW 7-Series after an eight-month long investigation. The story said NHTSA began the investigation of transmission control problems in the 7-series vehicles back in August. The investigation has now shown 16 crashed and five injuries related to the transmission problem. According to the story, the investigation includes almost 122,000 vehicles from the 2002 to 2008 model years.
