Tom Gill Acquires Buick GMC Dealership in Ohio
Fiehrer Buick GMC in Hamilton, OH, has been sold to Tom Gill in a deal brokered by Performance Brokerage Services.
Fiehrer Buick GMC has been serving the community since 1932. Performance’s Mark Shackelford, Sr. has worked Tom and Dan Fiehrer for thew past two years ago, exploring the possibility of acquiring additional dealerships and what the process of divesting his dealership might look like. “In the end, Tom and his brother Dan decided it was the right choice for their families to sell the dealership,” said Shackelford.
The Gill Family has been in the automotive business since 1996, with Tom Gill Chevrolet operating as a family-owned dealership in Florence, KY. With the acquisition of Fiehrer Buick GMC, the Gill Family has now expanded into the Ohio market.
Fiehrer Buick GMC will be renamed Tom Gill Buick GMC and will remain at its current location.
Tom Dinsdale Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Acquired by Hastings Automotive Group
Tom Dinsdale Automotive has sold their Hastings, NE, dealership, Tom Dinsdale Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, to Hastings Automotive Group.
The local automotive group is a part of the Rydell Auto Group and owned by Scott Sterling and his wife Susan. The couple already operate Hastings Ford, Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center, and HFX Honda Powersports in the area. They announced the acquisition in an April 9 Facebook post and will operate the dealership under the new name Hastings Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
“Because of the incredible customer and community support over the past 12 years, we have been able to expand our business and purchase the Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (CDJR) dealership in Hastings,” Sterling said. “Acquiring another local dealership is very exciting, and we are looking forward to expanding on the projects and community outreach efforts we are currently involved in.”
This is not the only dealership Tom Dinsdale Automotive is currently selling as Tom Dinsdale Chevrolet Cadillac GMC in Grand Island, NE, has reportedly been purchased by Rydell Automotive Group.
The Golling Automotive Group Purchases Detroit Dealership
Jeff Laethem has sold the Ray Laethem Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Detroit, MI, to Golling Automotive Group.
Ray Laethem Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Ray Laethem Buick GMC were founded by Ray Laethem, father of Jeff Laethem. Jeff later took over the management of both dealerships and continues to serve as President of Ray Laethem Buick GMC in Detroit.
Golling Automotive Group was founded in 1966 by World War II veteran A. William Golling, Jr., who opened a Volkswagen dealership in Troy, MI. His son Bill worked alongside him, learning every department of the dealership, starting by washing cars as a teenager. After graduating from Michigan State University, Bill partnered with his father to open a Datsun dealership in Royal Oak, MI. Golling Automotive Group now operates eight dealerships across Michigan representing Toyota, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat, Buick, GMC, and Kia.
Ray Laethem Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will be renamed Golling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Grosse Pointe and will remain at its current location.
