Automobile pricing site TrueCar declared back in 2011 that Black Friday was the best day to buy a vehicle and has similar notions about this year’s stock. Car prices dropped 9.5% on average three years ago, but car sales that stubbornly increase even as the economy sputtered have dried up some of the deals.

Overall vehicle sales rose 9% from November 2012, while Chrysler’s 16% jump in monthly sales came as Black Friday gave the automaker its fifth-busiest sales day of the year. General Motors saw a 13.7% boost as well, thanks largely to Thanksgiving weekend sales. This November, overall vehicle sales rose 4.6% from last year as Chrysler (up 2zero percent), Subaru (23.6%), General Motors (6.5%) and Mercedes (2%) all saw upticks despite some incredibly snowy weather across the country.
