Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) reported May U.S. sales of 20,357 vehicles, representing an increase of 13.9 percent (up 5.4 percent on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis) versus last year. On a calendar year-to-date basis, Mazda’s sales are up 20.2 percent (19.3 percent DSR), with 123,886 vehicles sold.

- The all-new 2013 Mazda CX-5 compact crossover SUV, named “2012 Crossover of the Year” by Autobytel and an IIHS “Top Safety Pick” is a popular choice for customers. In its third full month of sales, 3,973 vehicles were sold in May. Mazda 6 sales are up 40.0 percent versus last year with 2,294 vehicles sold.
- Mazda’s SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY, the brand’s engineering-focused philosophy toward improving all-around vehicle efficiency, is already demonstrating strong sales through its fitment in the 2012 Mazda3 (up to 40 MPG highway) and the CX-5 (highest highway (35 MPG) and best combined (29 MPG) fuel economy of any SUV sold in the U.S.). Mazda’s total SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY vehicle sales for May account for 72 percent of total sales for the month.
