Cytec Showcases Advances Made for the Automotive Market and Launches DForm® Fabric Tooling at JEC, from Cytec.
Woodland Park, NJ – Cytec Industries Inc. (CYT) will be exhibiting at JEC Europe 2015 on stand D17, Hall 7.3 and showcasing its technology developments and investments for automotive and tooling applications. Cytec will showcase the advances it and its supply chain partners have made towards enabling high rate CFRP parts manufacture for serial automotive applications in automation, bonding, rapid-cure prepreg and HP-RTM, press-molding and industrial textiles. Cytec will exhibit parts manufactured using Cytec’s rapid-cure prepregs enabling sub three minutes press-molding. Alex Aucken, Cytec’s Global Automotive Director said: “We are working with our partners on materials, processes and application engineering to enable the automotive industry to affordably design and manufacture carbon fiber composite structures for automated mass production”.
Cytec will launch its ground-breaking DForm® fabric tooling prepreg. DForm® combines short fiber conformability with the handling and laminate characteristics of a conventional long fiber composite. Saving 75% of lay-up and debulk time and offering four times greater output from current lay-up staff, DForm® fabric tooling prepreg will revolutionize the composite tooling manufacture while bringing a significant cost reduction. Visitors will be able to witness these benefits by attending live lay-up demonstrations at the show in Hall 7.1 and by visiting Cytec’s stand D17 Hall 7.3 to see examples of finished tools.
