- Pinterest Is Reportedly Planning To Launch A ‘Buy’ Button Early This Year (Search Engine Journal)
A new report suggests that the visually-focused social media network could be launching a “Buy” button in as little as three to six months. The button would supposedly start as a limited test allowing customers to buy products without leaving the network, and comes at a time when Facebook and Twitter are both working on similar features. According to the report, orders placed on the network would be fulfilled by third parties rather than by the companies themselves.
We say: While the implications of such a “Buy” button may not be immediately applicable to your dealership, it would indicate this network’s move into a more monetized, advertising-focused direction. That means it’s worth keeping an eye on for dealers, especially when it comes to reaching female or Millennial buyers.
