Vendor 20 Group Officially Launches to Help Foster Automotive Collaboration

Published: January 16, 2026

After nearly two years growth behind the scenes, the Vendor 20 Group (V20) is making its official industry debut. Founded by industry veterans Brent Williams, Dave Spannhake, and David Kain, V20 is a first-of-its-kind peer forum designed specifically for automotive vendors. The group aims to replace siloed competition with structured collaboration, creating a space for leaders to share insights, solve common problems, and raise the standards of service for their dealership clients.

Modeled after the highly successful dealer 20 group concept, V20 was born from a conversation between Spannhake and Williams about the lack of a trusted environment where vendor executives could learn from one another. The group brings together leaders from non-competing automotive technology and service companies into moderated cohorts. Since its formation, V20 has already grown to include 70 member companies spread across four active groups.

“For too long, vendors have worked in silos, even while trying to solve the same problems,” said Brent Williams, Co-Founder of V20 and Former Founder of SnapCell. “V20 is about shifting from competition to cooperation so we can innovate together and deliver better results for dealers.”

Vendors Working Together Towards Growth

The structure combines Williams’ technology background, Spannhake’s expertise in business operations, and Kain’s proven skills in group moderation to create a platform for professional growth and accountability.

“Dealers look to vendors not just for tools, but for ideas that lead to real solutions,” added Dave Spannhake, Co-Founder and President of V20. “V20 gives vendors a space to collaborate, share what works, and help elevate the industry together.”

To mark its official launch, V20 will have a significant presence at the upcoming NADA Show 2026. The group is hosting a unique, pitch-free booth focused entirely on education and problem-solving. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a rotating lineup of V20 members, who will lead short presentations and offer unbiased, expert advice on a range of topics. The space is designed to facilitate genuine conversations and provide dealers with direct access to knowledgeable resources without a sales agenda.

The Future of the V20 Marketplace

Alongside its industry launch, V20 is introducing the V20 Marketplace. This new online resource is designed to help automotive leaders research and evaluate software and service partners. Moving beyond a traditional directory, the Marketplace will feature verified user reviews and expert guidance to help decision-makers find the right solutions for their business needs.

As connected technology becomes increasingly central to dealership operations, the role of the vendor partner is more critical than ever. By providing a forum for shared learning and mutual improvement, V20 is hoping to foster stronger, more effective partnerships throughout the automotive retail ecosystem.
