SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Polk announced this week that it will adjust its reporting to align with the changes in census tracts defined in the 2010 Census. The adjustments by the U.S. Census Bureau reflect changes in U.S. population, including Puerto Rico. Polk will be migrating to the 2010 census tracts beginning in May 2012.
For those customers using Polk reporting services, certain geographic areas built from tracts, such as many automotive OEM dealer territories, will be adjusted to be based on Census 2010 tracts, rather than those defined for Census 2000. As a result, a slight shift in volumes will occur in some areas.
Polk expects a smooth transition as the new definitions are integrated into its services.
