CarGurus has officially launched PriceVantage, a new inventory management solution designed to fundamentally shift how dealers approach used vehicle pricing. By leveraging artificial intelligence and real-time consumer demand data, the tool aims to move the industry away from reactive pricing strategies based on historical data toward proactive, predictive decision-making.
The core differentiator of PriceVantage versus other AI pricing tools lies in its data source. CarGurus currently processes approximately 10 billion monthly intent signals. The new platform synthesizes this massive dataset to provide dealers with customized pricing recommendations that balance two often competing goals: increasing turn rates and preserving profit margins.

The PriceVantage Advantage
Functionally, the system offers more than just a suggested retail price. It provides a forecasting model that allows dealers to simulate outcomes before implementing a change. Users can visualize how a specific price adjustment might impact potential lead volume or help meet individual turn time goals. It also includes granular insights into local competition and market days supply, allowing dealers to identify underpriced assets or opportunities to hold firm on high-demand units.
To ensure adoption, CarGurus focused heavily on workflow integration to minimize operational friction. The solution combines pricing, competitive insights, and listings management into a single interface. It features direct syndication into Inventory Management Systems (IMS) and includes a Chrome browser extension that overlays PriceVantage intelligence onto other workflow tools, eliminating the need for manual updates across disparate platforms. Additionally, the tool provides VIN-level activity analysis and flags missing vehicle details for instant correction.
Dealers are Already Seeing Success
Early results from beta testing have suggested significant gains for dealers. According to CarGurus’ analysis, the most engaged dealers using the platform achieved turn times five times faster than their top competitors on the site. Furthermore, dealers who implemented the system’s price recommendations saw an average 71 percent increase in daily shopper connections, a metric that includes text and chat leads, map clicks, and website visits.
