AAA Mid-Atlantic takes on used-car dealers, opens its own sales lot, from Philadelphia Business Journal.
AAA Mid-Atlantic has decided to expand into used-car sales, adding to a growing list of services it offers beyond roadside assistance and auto insurance.
The not-for-profit organization has set up a sales lot on Brewster Avenue near the Philadelphia International Airport in Philadelphia for what it calls its “Select Pre-Owned Auto Dealership.” It will sell vehicles that are no more than six years old and have fewer than 75,000 miles.
“We are everything automotive and this is the one thing, providing the car to customers, that we haven’t gotten into,” said Keith McIntyre, director of auto sales and products for AAA Mid-Atlantic. The organization has delved into auto maintenance and has stores that sells vehicle and travel items.
Chapters of the auto club in Arizona and North Carolina have ventured into the used-auto sales and has been a success, McIntyre said.
