SANTA MONICA, Calif. — TrueCar.com, the authority in new car pricing, trends and forecasting released its Performance Scorecards for automotive manufacturers and brands. The Performance Scorecards grade each manufacturer and brand on eight different measurements including pricing, sales, incentives, customer loyalty, market share and days in inventory data.
Overall, the top manufacturers on the Scorecards in August were Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover and Subaru. Near the bottom of the list were Saab, Honda and Suzuki. The brands that received the highest grades were Jeep, GMC and Land Rover and the brands with the lowest grades were Saab, Jaguar, Honda and Suzuki.
“There’s no stopping Hyundai at this point, as they continue to dominate the scorecards,” said Jesse Toprak, VP of Industry Trends and Insights at TrueCar.com. “Saab is on the brink of bankruptcy and the scorecards have been pointing to their failures for some time now.”
The biggest gainers among manufacturers, from July 2011 to August 2011 were:
- Toyota moving from a C- to a B+
- Jaguar Land Rover moving from a B- to an A
- Subaru moving from a B to an A
The biggest decliners among manufacturers, from July 2011 to August 2011 were:
- Volkswagen moving from an A to a C+
- Porsche moving from an A to a B-
- Ford moving from a B to a C
