As noted by the Data Point Reports, from Autoshopper.com for the Month of January 2012, full Size Truck Searches has significantly grown since December. The fact that consumers are searching more full size trucks than compact cars shows an economic trend upswing of construction like workload vehicles needed in the market. Most searched are first the Ford f150, then the Chevy Silverado 1500 and last the Dodge Ram 1500.
According to Business Insider, after 5 years of shedding workers, the construction industry is finally adding jobs again. Since construction jobs are historically seen as a key component of economic recovery, this is something to be positive about.
“The renewed interest in Full Size Trucks, and the decline in search for compact cars, shows an Up Hill Trend in work-load related jobs, a positive economic indicator for all of us,” says Dani Lunsford, National Marketing Executive of Autoshopper.com.
Over the same period, compact cars faced a slight decline, which had become so popular, due to decrease annual income and increase in fuel and insurance prices. It seems as though consumer confidence is pointing to the addition of larger more expensive vehicles.
“This continued economic recovery has the middle class American looking for a larger, less fuel efficient vehicle to carry out the work load requirements according to newly created jobs in the construction field, “says Dani Lunsford, National Marketing Executive of Autoshopper.com.
