The Reynolds and Reynolds Company recently acquired TSD Mobility Solutions, a leader in fleet management software and services.
TSD designs and develops fleet mobility solutions for dealerships, manufacturers, public automotive groups, and rental car companies worldwide. Operating in 92 countries and six continents, the company is used by 16,000 dealerships and 3,000 car rental companies.
Built to handle multi-use scenarios, TSD provides fleet management options for loaner or rental cars, shuttles, subscriptions, test drives, and pickup and delivery services.
Concannon Staying On
Kasi Edwards, senior vice president of strategy and corporate development at Reynolds, said that TSD’s “values align with ours, their approach to creating high-quality software synergizes with ours, and our shared focus on customer service makes this a perfect fit.”
TSD will operate independently from its base in Boston. Shawn Concannon, president of TSD since January 2022, will remain in that role.
“I couldn’t be more excited for our employees and our customers. This is an amazing time to be partnered with TSD,” said Concannon. “Joining Reynolds opens so many possibilities to streamline workflows across the industries we serve, further increasing efficiencies and reducing risk for our customers.”
Growth Opportunity in Fleet Management
The deals comes after Reynolds released a report detailing the benefits of its Retail Management System on a dealership’s profitability after switching from a competing DMS provider.
The report, titled Switching to Reynolds: Creating Sustainable Profitability, highlighted while margins were boosted by the pandemic and forces outside of the dealership’s control, added value to the customer can drive sustained profitability as the market normalizes to pre-pandemic paradigms. Notably, the report explores the performance impact of the Reynolds Retail Management System in dealerships that converted to Reynolds from a competing DMS.
Notably, the report states that overall gross profits increased an average of 63.3 percent at dealerships that switched to Reynolds.
“As convenience and customer experience remain a key focus for dealers and OEMs, the importance of fleet management is continuing to grow,” concluded Edwards. “TSD is the leader in this space and the rental car space, and we couldn’t be more excited about the future of TSD with Reynolds.”
