Hamilton’s Coolants Plus expanding product line of auto fluids, from Journal News.
HAMILTON — A company new to the city hopes to grow its own brand line of automotive lubricant and coolant products.
Coolants Plus Inc. is an national wholesale distributor of lubricants, antifreeze, coolants, grease and oils. It sells well-known name brands including Pennzoil, Mobil and Prestone to suppliers stocking the shelves of automotive retailers and conveniences stores, said Vice President Darrin Ward. Customers also include other distributors.
Coolants Plus also packages its own line of automotive fluids under the brand name STARFIRE. By packaging its own label of fluid products without paying for the same amount of advertising as major brands, distributor Coolants Plus can sell its STARFIRE products to customers for less.
“In the last 18 months, we’re trying to add as much as we can” to the STARFIRE product lineup, Ward said.
“This line, it’s now being taken nationwide. It’s done better than we expected,” he said.
