The new 64,000-square-foot facility boasts one of the largest, most impressive automotive footprints in Southern California – with features and amenities unlike any car dealership in the area. Tustin Toyota/Scion carries the brand’s prestigious Image II status, making it a leader among other Toyota/Scion dealers. Along with Tustin Toyota/Scion’s previous location, which still offers certified pre-owned vehicles, both buildings now encompass approximately 100,000 square feet.

Tustin Toyota/Scion will mark the opening with a private gathering next month. The event will include tours of the facility and a presentation from a Toyota Motor Sales senior executive. During the event, Tustin Toyota/Scion will present two $15,000 donations to the Boys & Girls Club of Tustin and Children’s Hospital of Orange County. There will also be a special Katana Japanese sword presentation – unique to Toyota Image II grand openings – and be fully catered with a sushi bar, drinks and a liquid nitrogen dessert station.
Eco-friendly showroom
Tustin Toyota/Scion will be the first LEED Certified automotive dealership in Orange County. Sustainable building strategies were considered early in the development to ensure green project design standards. The facility is one of the lowest kilowatts-per-square-foot Toyota/Scion dealerships in the United States. As a result, the new location will conserve a significant amount of water and energy usage each year.
Eye-popping design
Perched high atop Interstate 5 at the Tustin Ranch Road exit, freeway motorists can’t miss Tustin Toyota/Scion’s majestic “Jewel Box,” which blends light, color and automotive style into a 1,000-square-foot mini-showroom that provides Tustin Toyota/Scion with a signature design element to showcase the latest Toyota and Scion models.
Additionally, Tustin Toyota/Scion customers are treated to stunning design inside the facility. Upon entering, customers are greeted by a large reception area with a backsplash of bamboo stalks on glass paneling to complement the eco-friendly design. In the showroom, the Orange County transportation landscape comes alive through colorful floor-to-ceiling murals by artist Bill Hueg, preserved from Joe’s Garage, which depict California’s rich motoring history. Tustin Toyota/Scion was formerly occupied by Joe’s Garage, a longstanding Orange County automotive institution and museum that once housed a multi-million-dollar car collection and other memorabilia. The first mural portrays a classic Woody on the beaches of Corona del Mar. The second is of three cars outside a local Ruby’s Diner with an optical illusion where the front end of the center vehicle moves toward the viewer from every angle.
To complement the look and feel of Hueg’s murals and give the showroom a distinct, historic, Southern California feel, Tustin Toyota/Scion purchased a beautifully restored, bright yellow, 1970 FJ40 Land Cruiser, which is prominently displayed alongside a host of other current Toyota and Scion vehicles.
