4 Major Japanese Manufacturer’s suffered a major hit to their reliability ratings in a worldwide recall of 3.4 million vehicles and counting. Over 1 million cars in the US and Europe have been recalled in models by Honda, Mazda, Toyota and Nissan. Over half the recalls have hit Toyota cars.
Reasons for the fault? Takata airbags that burn too hot, and detonate too quickly, causing the container to explode and thereby turning the so-called safety device into a shrapnel-blasting bomb.
