Houston, Texas –The National Alliance of Buy Here Pay Here Dealers (NABD) announced that it has released a comprehensive “white paper” which summarizes a national payment device survey it conducted earlier this year.
Kenneth B. Shilson, CPA, President and Founder of NABD, indicated that “the study surveyed more than 100 users and included approximately 150,000 payment device units to discover the impact these devices are having on the BHPH industry, and to identify some user best practices.
“The survey provided new insights in respect to the use of both payment assurance and GPS tracking devices and was overwhelmingly positive toward their use and their overall operational impact,” Shilson noted. “Although the ways in which these devices are used, still varies between users, the consensus was that payment devices are a very beneficial tool in effectively managing a portfolio in today’s challenging environment.”
The NABD White Paper provides a brief history of the industry and device technology, information on disclosure, discrimination, reliability, selecting the right product, an assessment of how these products work, cost / benefit relationships, and specific recommendations on best practices. “Anyone who is using these devices now, or considering their implementation in the future, should read this survey,” Shilson indicated. Shilson also indicated that the white paper can be downloaded free of charge at the NABD web site at MAY 2011 PAYMENT DEVICE SURVEY WHITE PAPER
In addition, Shilson indicated that the web site contains a new device survey covering the impact of these devices on BHPH consumers, which should be completed online at the NABD web site,PAYMENT DEVICE STUDY , on or before October 15. “NABD encourages anyone who has experience with these devices to participate in this important new study. Those who do so will receive a copy of the results, and a new white paper summarizing the study. In addition, the best respondents can win a complimentary pass to our upcoming November conference in Atlanta,” Shilson explained.
“Device providers will discuss the results of the new consumer survey at our upcoming East Coast NABD BHPH Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on Nov. 6-8, 2011. At that conference, device providers will disclose the survey results and answer questions during an interactive session with attendees,” Shilson mentioned.
“The results of the study were compiled by ‘Zoomerang,’ which independently conducts online studies. All responses have been verified and we believe the results of this survey are both objective and credible,” Shilson stated.
“NABD appreciates the time and the efforts of all the survey user participants and device providers who assisted in conducting our recently completed survey,” Shilson indicated. “We encourage their continuing participation in helping the industry fully understand these devices.”
Information about the upcoming BHPH Conference in Atlanta, Georgia is now available through the NABD web site, www.bhphinfo.com, or by calling the newly relocated NABD headquarters at (832) 767-4759.
