“A driver transporting heavy equipment damaged two tractors when the truck’s tires slipped off the edge of the road and caused the truck to overturn.”
“A truck driver hauling a wide load caused serious injuries when the protruding cargo struck an oncoming car.”
Both of the above accidents and accompanying losses were due to the drivers’ failure to follow safe driving practices. Losses arising from improper procedures while transporting equipment can be financially devastating to your dealership and life threatening to your drivers and third parties. However, almost all of these events can be prevented if you establish an effective training program for your drivers. All drivers learn safety procedures during their initial training and
should review the procedures regularly.
